​The Sammy Ofer School of Communications was founded with the aim of meeting the clear need for top-notch professionals versed in the new world of media. The school seeks to train the future generation of media professionals in Israel, by focusing on new media and providing the students with the necessary tools to understand, function and successfully create new ventures in the ever-changing world of modern media.

Speaking at the school’s inauguration ceremony, the late Sammy Ofer z”l, for whom the school is named, said: “I see great importance in contributing to education in general and particularly to media education and I expect that in a few years we will see the school’s first graduates make their mark on Israeli media”.

The school offers advanced academic facilities equipped with state of the art media and communication innovations, which place it at the forefront of global technology in the field. The school is home to the Media

Innovation Lab – modeled after the prestigious MIT media lab – where students develop prototypes for future media and technology innovations.

The school is headed by Dr. Noam Lemelshtrich Latar, who has served as dean since its inception.

​The Argov Fellows Program in Leadership and Diplomacy was formed with the aim of training students who exhibit special leadership skills to represent the State of Israel and the Jewish people in the international arena.

This unique program builds on the legacy of former Israeli Ambassador, the late Shlomo Argov z”l, and has been generously funded and mentored by his son, Gideon Argov. The program offers students the opportunity to hone their communication and language skills, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and tools to become unofficial spokespeople for Israel, with the hope of improving its international standing. During their year in the program the students take part in academic tours to government institutions, international organizations and leading business arenas and universities in Europe and the United States.

“We have the unique opportunity to fulfill one of the late Ambassador Shlomo Argov’s goals by providing the knowledge, skills and tools by which Israel and its interests can be represented in the world”, says Dr. Alisa Rubin-Peled, the program’s academic director.
