​IDC Herzliya’s School of Economics was founded with the realization that shaping Israel’s economic policy was a mission of national importance.

“The changes the Israeli economy is undergoing, especially the economic reforms, accelerated privatization, globalization processes and the global recession that plagued world markets in 2008, require a fresh approach to economic processes, both in research and in teaching”, says IDC Provost and founding Dean Prof. Rafi Melnick.

This premise is at the heart of the school’s curriculum, which includes unique programs offering a comprehensive approach to the economic policy and the crucial developments that have affected global economy over the past few years.

Alongside providing students with broad economic theories, the curriculum equips them with the practical tools necessary for integration in the business and public sectors.

The school is headed by Dean Prof. Zvi Eckstein, formally deputy governor of the Bank of Israel.

​The Rabin Leadership Program was formed with the aim of offering outstanding students with proven leadership skills the theoretical and practical tools to lead and effect changes in Israeli society. The program aims to train students to lead Israel toward becoming an exemplary society.

The program was founded with the generous help of Mrs. Raya Strauss Bendror, and is headed by Maj.-Gen. (res.) Yoram Yair –Ya-Ya.

It incorporates theoretical knowledge and practical experience in launching social, communal and educational activities, alongside constant guidance and feedback.

The program includes classes led by top leadership experts, guest lectures by key figures in Israeli society, leadership workshops and meetings with social entrepreneurs in northern and southern Israel, as well as learning the process involved in the formation and promotion of social ventures. Many of the program’s graduates take part in ongoing social projects and some of them have joined the civil service, where they have founded various social projects.
