Out of a commitment to training future leaders and with the understanding that today's students must be equipped with tools to deal with the fundamental problems of the 21st century, IDC Herzliya has begun to design a new interdisciplinary academic approach led by Prof. Reichman, its President and Founder.

IDC Herzliya sees four issues – changes in human biology, sustainability, the technological revolution and globalization – as the most prominent challenges humankind must face in the current century. Accordingly, the new interdisciplinarity must integrate social sciences with natural sciences and engineering.

Moreover, focusing on these fundamental issues will undoubtedly breed new disciplines, whose teachings will mandate new and different teaching methods and the use of innovative technologies.
