Establishment of the Dina Recanati School of Medicine

In order to help respond to the current shortage of physicians in Israel and immediately increase the number of medical students in the country, Reichman University Chancellor Mr. Oudi Recanati announced that a donation will be made from his family foundation to establish a medical school at Reichman University. Prof. Uriel Reichman, founding president and chairman of the Board of Directors of Reichman University: “The increasing shortage of doctors is placing the field of medicine in Israel in real danger and demands a quick response.” Therefore, Reichman University will establish the country’s first private medical school, to be named for Dina Recanati.

 

The leading medical institutions in Israel were involved in the establishment of the school: Rabin Medical Center, Clalit Health Services, Maccabi Healthcare Services, and Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer. The Dina Recanati School of Medicine will be a world leader in medical education and will serve as a model for teaching medicine in a manner that is professional, innovative, multidisciplinary and personal.

Establishment of the Google Reichman Tech School

Google and Reichman University are establishing a school for the high-tech professions, which will strive to provide equal opportunities and promote underrepresented populations. The school’s goal is to provide equal opportunities to every person seeking to contribute to the biggest engine of growth in the Israeli economy – the high-tech industry – on the basis of their personal skills and suitability to the program. Members of underrepresented populations will have an equal opportunity to join the program regardless of their financial ability to pay for the course. The tech school includes a portfolio of technological and business courses for professions that are in high demand in the Israeli high-tech market.
