Avi Tiomkin has been working for many years towards the advancement of Israeli society and the Israeli economy. Alongside his business pursuits, Tiomkin studies global markets, and was even nicknamed "The Oracle" after he predicted Israel’s 1983 bank shares crisis, the rapid global recovery after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks, and the 2008 global financial crisis. Tiomkin has been a supporter of IDC Herzliya (Reichman University) from its founding, and later contributed to the establishment of the Tiomkin School of Economics.
