Adv. Rachel Levitan

In the 25th year of IDC Herzliya (Reichman University), we sat down with our partners to hear from them how it all began. Each week, we will put up one video of the series here.

“It doesn’t stand a chance,” is how Adv. Rachel Levitan responded in 1992 to Prof. Uriel Reichman's idea of establishing a non-subsidized body outside of the university system.

Two years later she received a phone call from him with a proposal to join IDC’s (Reichman University) Board of Directors, on which she has since served as a member.

From her deep familiarity of the academic world, she says that IDC Herzliya (Reichman University) began “not from nothing, but from minus nothing.” Today, she is proud of its standing as one of the leading institutions in Israel, a Zionist academic institution that trains the future leadership of Israeli society.
