Prof. Shimon Schocken

In the 25th year of IDC Herzliya (Reichman University), we sat down with our partners to hear from them how it all began.

Prof. Shimon Schocken is the Founding Dean of the Efi Arazi School of Computer Science. He was one of the first faculty members to join IDC Herzliya (Reichman University) after becoming captivated by Prof. Reichman’s pioneering vision and leaving a senior position at New York University. Prof. Schocken was a partner in many of the important junctions and exciting moments of IDC’s history, and in 1998 he wrote the IDC anthem immediately upon the news of the decision by the Council for Higher Education to recognize academic degrees granted by IDC Herzliya (Reichman University).
