Termination of Studies (for Personal Reasons) – First-Year Students

Continuing students will find the relevant information in the Tuition regulations.
A student who has completed the formal registration process at Reichman University, including payment of the down payment, is considered a full-fledged student with a secure place. However, in certain exceptional personal circumstances, a student may be unable to begin studies in the academic year for which they registered, even though the down payment has already been paid.

In such cases, studies may be canceled by submitting written notification, in accordance with the procedure for termination of studies (as outlined in the regulations). The financial obligation will be determined based on the date of notification (see table below).

A candidate whose eligibility for a need-based discount from Reichman University, or for a discount/scholarship granted by the University in cooperation with another organization*, is under review by the Scholarships Department, will be entitled to postpone the notification date for termination of studies until two days after receiving a final response. This applies only if the response is negative and is received after the final deadline for cancellation with a full refund of the down payment.

A student who has applied for scholarships not in cooperation with Reichman University, or who is awaiting a response regarding merit-based scholarships, will not be granted a postponement of the notification date and will be required to notify of termination of studies in accordance with the regulations, regardless of the timing of the scholarship response.
*Scholarships in cooperation with Reichman University include: the ISEF Scholarship, scholarships for Navy veterans (through the Moka Limon Memorial Fund and Rafael de Rothschild), and scholarships for individuals leaving ultra-Orthodox communities.
Students who terminate their studies or do not begin them after being admitted and paying the down payment will be charged in accordance with the termination of studies regulations.

Procedure for Notification of Registration Cancellation and Termination of Studies

Registration Cancellation

A student wishing to cancel their registration for the 2025–2026 academic year is required to submit a dedicated form to the Registrar’s Office. Additional information can be found in the tuition regulations.

Termination of Studies

A student who has commenced their studies and wishes to take a leave of absence or terminate their studies is required to notify the Academic Coordinator. The notification must be submitted in writing and in an organized manner. Additional information can be found in the tuition regulations.

The registrant/student must ensure that their notification has been received.
For the avoidance of doubt – A telephone notification is not considered a valid notification of registration cancellation or termination of studies.

A notification of cancellation or termination of studies applies solely to registration and admission to the academic program.
A student who has registered for dormitory housing must also notify the Dormitory Manager of the cancellation, in accordance with the dormitory regulations.
