Between courses in contract law, political theory, and mathematics, it is worthwhile to take a stroll amongst the trees and admire the works of art scattered throughout Reichman University.
Most of the works are concentrated in the sculpture garden named for Devorah Schocken, z”l, who served for years as the art curator at Reichman University and was the mother of Prof. Shimon Schocken, the founding dean of the Efi Arazi School of Computer Science.
Today, the eucalyptus grove on campus features more than 30 sculptures by the artists Bernard Reder, Jacob Dorchin, Zigi Ben-Haim, and Zadok Ben-David. Reichman University boasts the largest collection of Bernard Reder's sculptures in the world; 17 sculptures by the artist can be found throughout the campus.
"Reichman University combines art, archeology, environmental sculpture and ornamentation in all its frameworks, in order to make the campus a pleasant place to be and a space that provides a different kind of inspiration than that of the bustling city that surrounds us."
-Prof. Reichman
