Dear friends, ICT’s 20th World Summit on Counter-Terrorism (the “Summit”) will take place on September 10, 12, 13, and 14, 2021, and commemorate not only the 25th year since the establishment of the ICT, but also the accreditation of the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya as Reichman University. As per the Summit’s tradition, this year too, the Conference will host dozens of experts and decision-makers who share deep and intimate knowledge of security and terrorism, either from a local (middle eastern) or global perspective. The unique combination of academic knowledge coupled with the Israeli (and international) Counter-Terrorism experience will allow important discussions both from an academic research vantage point and from an operational security and political one. Our expert speakers, non-Israelis and Israelis alike, either served or currently serve as heads of security services and as decision makers, and have to deal with burning regional and global issues, including the ramifications of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Taliban takeover; the Iranian presence in Syria and its relationship with China and Russia on the backdrop of the nuclear race; the chances for an eruption of a regional war and threat assessments on Israel’s northern, southern and West Bank fronts. The Summit will also address the challenges of a global contention with cyber-terrorism, the use of terrorist organizations of social media, future counter-terrorism technologies and more
