Dr. Shelly Aviv Yeini is a scholar of Public International Law and Constitutional Law, with a particular focus on International Humanitarian Law and International Criminal Law.
Her research explores the power dynamics between legal institutions and examines the instrumental use of law for political and strategic purposes.
She focuses on how such processes shape the legitimacy and effectiveness of the international legal order, analyzing the ways in which law is formed, applied, and interpreted in both domestic and international arenas.
Dr. Aviv Yeini has served as Head of International Law at the Hostages and Missing Families Forum, leading advocacy efforts for the release of hostages and for the protection of families’ rights before the International Criminal Court and United Nations bodies. -
