Research and Teaching Expertise

  • Prof. Doron is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Psychology, Reichman University. Prof. Doron has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology that was completed magna cum laude and a BA (Hons) in Psychology completed with a High Distinction at the University of Melbourne, Australia. At the University of Melbourne, he has also completed a PhD and a Master of Psychology (Clinical Psychology).

    Prof. Doron has specialized in obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and related disorders. He has investigated several mechanisms implicated in the development and maintenance of OCD and identified an additional dimension of OCD symptoms – relationship obsessive compulsive disorder (ROCD). Prof. Doron has published over 85 papers/book chapters and is the founding director of the Relationship Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Research Unit (ROCD-RU; ROCD.net).

    In addition to clinical research, Prof. Doron has worked in developing and researching innovative internet-based tools for clients and therapists. He is the co-founder of the GGtude platform - one of the most research supported mHealth platform for mental health interventions (See this https://ocd.app/ocd-research/).

    Prof. Doron has received several prestigious research grants including the Marie Curie Reintegration Grant (4 years, 2007-2011) from the European Union, the Israel Science Foundation grant (ISF, 4 years, 2009-2013) the US-Israel Binational Science Foundation (BSF; 4 years, 2010-2014, Co PIs: Saguy, T., & ‎Dovidio, J.) and the Kamin grant from the Israeli Innovation Authority (2 years; 2019-2020, Co PI Abraham Zangen) and Joy Ventures (3 years; 2020-2023, Co PI Daniel Levy).

    Prof. Doron receives clients for Cognitive Behavioral Treatment of OCD, anxiety disorders and depression at his clinic in Tel-Aviv.
