Dr. Roy Sasson seamlessly integrates academia with senior roles in the technology industry, boasting over 15 years of experience. He has a rich background in building and managing several large data science organizations that impact hundreds of millions of end users.
Roy teaches courses in artificial intelligence and big data, emphasizing product applications for end users. Under his guidance, more than 5,000 graduates (including undergraduate and graduate students, MBA graduates, and senior executives) in Israel have completed their studies, with many now holding senior positions in both industry and academia.
Roy has published academic papers in leading journals. Currently, he heads the Data Science organization at Waze and serves as the company’s Chief Scientist. Previously, he was the Chief Scientist at Outbrain.
Roy holds a Ph.D. in Econometrics from Tel Aviv University and currently manages several academic programs in data and artificial intelligence.
