Dr. Sommer is a Senior Lecturer at the Radzyner School. His main areas of teaching and research are Constitutional Law and Marketing and Advertising Law. In 2014, Sommer was awarded IDC's "Excellence in Teaching" Award.
At IDC, Sommer served as the first Dean of Student Affairs and as Vice Dean of the Law School. Prior to joining IDC, Sommer was a member of the faculty at Bar Ilan University Law School. Sommer published several law review articles in Israel and the U.S.
Sommer also served as advisor to the Knesset's Constitution, Law and Justice Commission in its most recent attempt to draft a Constitution for the State of Israel.
Dr. Sommer holds a J.S.D. (Doctor of the Science of Law) (2014) and an LL.M (1989) from Yale Law School as well as an LL.B (magna cum laude, 1988) from Tel-Aviv University. Dr. Sommer is the recipient of a Fulbright Fellowship for his studies at Yale.
In addition to his academic activities, Dr. Sommer serves as legal counsel to several leading TV entertainers and writers. In the past, Sommer practiced with Haim Zadock & Co., Tel Aviv, and with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, Washington D.C., U.S.A.
He is admitted to practice law in Israel and in New York State. -
