Institutional Ethics Committee
The Institutional Ethics Committee reviews research proposals that require institutional-level approval beyond the school-level committees, such as:
- Cases involving a potential conflict of interest and/or external research funding
- Appeals against a decision of a school-level committee
- Cases in which the chair of a school-level committee has determined that an issue has broader institutional implications or raises questions relevant to other schools
- Requests from schools that do not have their own school-level ethics committee
- Serving as an advisory and guiding body for the school-level ethics committees
Committee Operating Procedures
The Committee operates in accordance with Reichman University’s Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest Policy and with applicable law. Research requiring approval under the Public Health Regulations (Medical Experiments in Human Subjects), 1980, are referred to the Helsinki Committee, as needed.
