We are seeking one or more individuals to work on deep RL for GuestXR – a 4-year EU project starting Jan 2022. The project brings together fundamental challenges in ‘AI’ and deep RL, applied for social intelligence in multi-user XR environments. We are seeking researchers to work on the deep RL part, who will eventually integrate their results with other researchers working in various XR environments, or with neuroscientific and behavioral human research.
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with your advisers and a diverse multi-disciplinary international team, solve ambitious research challenges and translate your results into actionable insights that are relevant to applications in XR applications and beyond.
Write research code to test new approaches or develop novel theoretical and practical insights.
Distil the developed insights into effective communications, such as research papers and presentations, to reach internal and external technical and general audiences.
Qualifications:
PhD in reinforcement learning, game AI, or a related area, or equivalent experience (for PhD candidates: a relevant MSc thesis).
Ability to carry out state-of-the-art research, demonstrated by a publication at a top conference or journal.
Strong understanding of state-of-the-art deep learning and/or reinforcement learning (ideally deep reinforcement learning).
Hands-on experience in implementing and empirically evaluating deep learning or reinforcement learning approaches or related techniques, and/or experimentation infrastructure.
Effective communication skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and collaborative environment.
Experience in solving deep research challenges.
