Tom Sadeh

Tom Sadeh is an economic researcher at the Center for Economic Policy of the Ultra-Orthodox Society at the Aaron Institute for Economic Policy, Reichman University. He is also a prominent science communicator, dedicated to making science—and economics in particular—accessible to the broader public. Through his work on social media, Tom bridges the gap between academic research and the general audience, presenting complex economic issues in a clear, relatable manner and fostering a culture of informed, data-driven public debate.

Previously, Tom served as a researcher at the Kohelet Economic Forum, where his research focused on health economics and the public sector, with an emphasis on taxation and transfer mechanisms. He analyzed the impact of these systems on economic efficiency and income distribution, while also studying the structural features of Israel’s healthcare system. His work provided valuable tools for understanding the challenges of public policy and established him as one of the promising young voices in the field of public economics in Israel.

At the Aaron Institute, Tom’s primary focus is on the Haredi society and its evolving relationship with the Israeli economy. His research examines employment patterns, educational attainment, and economic participation within the ultra-Orthodox community. The goal of this work is to design data-based policy models that can facilitate greater integration of the Haredi society into the labor market and the wider economy.
