Public Trust in the Police and the Israel Defense Force (IDF)

Public Trust Level in the Police

 

Public trust in the police remained stable at 23% in July 2026, following a cumulative decline of approximately 8 percentage points over the previous three months. Trust in the police among coalition supporters declined by 4 percentage points in July, standing at 34%, compared to 48% in April. Among opposition supporters, by contrast, trust increased by 4 percentage points to 18.2%.

 

Public Trust in the Israel Defense Force (IDF)

 

Public trust in the IDF declined to 69% in July 2026, a decrease of 2 percentage points compared to June, bringing the cumulative decline since April to 8 percentage points. Despite this decrease, the IDF continues to maintain its position as the institution receiving the highest level of trust among the Israeli public, with approximately three-quarters of the public expressing trust.
