Since its establishment in 2009, The Sagol Center for Brain and Mind, under the guidance of Prof. Nava Levit Binnun, emerged as a pioneering research institution in Israel to promote personal and social resilience and growth, through the cultivation of mindsets such as mindfulness, compassion, wise elderhood, and reconciliation.

This is done through extensive basic and applied research, as well as significant disseminative activity. Over the last decade and a half, the center has certified over 300 "change agents" through mindfulness training protocols like Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), significantly impacting therapists and educators across diverse communities.

The Center’s diverse initiatives have equipped tens of thousands in Israel with mindfulness-based resilience tools, both directly and through its trained instructors, who have gone on to establish independent centers and programs.

Further extending the center’s reach, the Sagol Purple Schools Project has developed educational programs, collaborating with thousands of teachers, educators, and counselors, and integrating mindfulness-based social and emotional skills into schools and municipalities.

The Sagol center is also the first academic center to train (in collaboration with Hakomi Center and MAPS Israel) therapists to work with psychedelic-assisted therapies. Its current focus is the development of Science of Modern Wise Adulthood that can support the healing, cultural renaissance and transformation of societies’ "wicke" problems “ (very complex problem) – in Israel and throughout the world.
