Reichman University Accessibility Statement

• Reichman University incorporates an accessibility consultant into every new construction project on campus.

• At Reichman University, a supportive work and learning environment has been established for individuals with hearing impairments and attention or concentration difficulties.

• A real-time information system has been developed and implemented to identify the designated areas where students with physical disabilities are located, in order to provide assistance and ensure safe evacuation in the event of an emergency, fire, entry into shelters, etc.

• An internal, cross-organizational information system ensures the placement of students, faculty, and guests in the appropriate classrooms and lecture halls.

Students with significant and temporary mobility challenges (e.g. due to injury or illness) who need to enter the campus with their vehicle are invited to fill out the “Request for Medical Accommodations Form,” available through MY RUNI. Disabled parking spaces for holders of disabled parking permits are located, in accordance with the law, near the campus entrance gates and are available to them at all times.

• Employee training in accessible service — Annual training sessions are held for staff on various aspects of accessibility.

• Accessibility Center — Reichman University operates the Lea and Naftali Ben-Yehuda Accessibility & Study Skills Center.

• Loaning of hearing assistance devices — The Accessibility Center offers personal FM systems for loan to students with hearing impairments. These devices are compatible with T-coil hearing aids as well as standard headphones. When borrowing a device, students receive full training on its use and maintenance. A deposit check is required upon loan, which will be returned at the end of the semester when the device is returned.   Elevator access: An elevator is available via the library offices.
  Accessible restrooms are located on the ground floor next to Student Services, with an additional accessible restroom in the library offices.
  Assistive equipment for blind and visually impaired students: A video magnifier is available in the corner of the Elran Hall in the library.
  The library has a computer equipped with the following assistive software: Alma Reader reading software (Hebrew/English), magnification software, NVDA screen reader, and ABBYY FineReader OCR software.
  Noise-cancelling headphones are available for loan at the lending desk with student ID.

• Photocopiers — An additional photocopying station is available in the library building. It includes an accessible photocopier, and a staff member is on site to provide technical assistance if needed.

• An accessible website enables people with disabilities and older adults to navigate online content as efficiently and enjoyably as all other users.

• Reichman University is committed to providing equal access to digital services for individuals with diverse disabilities, including those who use assistive technologies.

• The website’s accessibility features comply with the recommendations of the Israeli Standard (IS 5568) for web accessibility at Level AA, and are aligned with the international WCAG 2.0 guidelines.

• The website is built with a semantic structure compatible with assistive technologies and supports standard keyboard navigation using the arrow keys, Enter, and Esc to open and close menus and windows.

• The website is optimized for display on all major browsers and for use on mobile devices.

• Website accessibility consulting was provided by A-2-Z Digital Accessibility and Marketing.

• Accessibility testing was conducted primarily for optimal compatibility with the Firefox browser.

• For the best browsing experience with screen reading software, we recommend using the latest NVDA software.
