"The New Path" NGO

 

"The New Path" NGO, named after the late Supreme Court Justice (Ret.) Edmond Levy has been operating since 2015 to promote social mobility and equal opportunities among youth from the social and geographic periphery in Israel. In the spirit of Justice Levy's legacy, the organization operates out of a deep belief in the importance of high-quality, multidisciplinary, and practical education as a driving force for empowering the individual and promoting meaningful social and civic integration.
The NGO is managed entirely by law students from the leading faculties in the country, with close academic guidance. 

 

As part of its activities, the NGO accompanies its youth participants on a path designed to assist in removing barriers stemming from educational gaps, economic disparities, and other socio-economic characteristics. For its contribution to empowering youth across the country, the NGO won the Alberto Moscona Prize for Social Entrepreneurship on behalf of the A.M.N. Foundation (EMET Prize) and the Ramon Foundation for 2019.

 

Our program offers participants unique training that combines the legal world with technological fields, with the goal of promoting the acquisition of practical and essential skills for their future, alongside broadening their horizons and exposing them to additional fields of knowledge. The training operates in a format of weekly meetings, and includes guest lectures, tours, practical work on a final project, and a hackathon.

 

The volunteering students integrate into the instruction team, lead the courses with the participants, and take an active part in developing lessons as part of the syllabus. The volunteer work includes conducting weekly meetings of an hour and a half to two hours and participating in the organization's events.

 

Who are we looking for? Law students with an affinity for instruction, a high academic standard, and excellent interpersonal skills. A good command of the Hebrew language is required. The volunteer work requires a commitment for a full academic year of activity and grants 2 academic credits.
