Derech HaEtgar & Derech HaGalim
Educational-Therapeutic Centers for Developing Self-Efficacy Through Adventure Sports, Supporting Youth Facing Academic and/or Social Challenges in Herzliya.
The program operates a network of five educational-therapeutic centers that combine academic support with adventure sports activities for boys and girls facing academic and/or social challenges. The program aims to strengthen participants’ sense of self-efficacy and self-worth, help them realize their potential and improve their academic achievements, prevent disengagement from formal educational frameworks, and foster a strong sense of connection to the State of Israel and meaningful national service.
Volunteering with Derech HaGalim in Herzliya offers students the opportunity to take part in meaningful educational and social work alongside the center’s professional team and the youth. Volunteers contribute across a range of areas, from providing academic assistance and helping reduce learning gaps, to participating in activities and challenges held at the center, as well as supporting the staff and the center’s day-to-day operations.
This is an opportunity to bridge the world of university students with the world of young people bringing knowledge, energy, initiative, and personal skills into a space where even a small success can become a meaningful step forward.
The centers operate Sunday through Thursday and provide youth aged 6–17 with a warm, supportive home-like environment a place that offers care, a sense of belonging, guidance, and support.
