Reichman University’s venture capital fund, RUNI Ventures, has announced its first closing of an investment fund at $30 million. The announcement comes only five months after the establishment of the fund, which enjoys direct access to the many ventures that develop every year in the variety of entrepreneurship and innovation programs, labs, and accelerators active on campus.

The significance of this first closing is that a substantial portion of the target amount has been raised, and the fund can start using the money to make investments, thanks to the great trust that the investors have placed in it.

RUNI Ventures will invest in promising startups in the pre-seed stage. It operates according to a unique model in which, in addition to investments of about half a million dollars per venture, portfolio companies will receive exclusive tools that are especially necessary in the first stages of a venture's journey. These tools include a workspace in the heart of Herzliya, the placement of outstanding students as interns or employees, advice from accomplished academics and industry experts and exclusive access to the global ecosystem of the fund's managers, partners, and thousands of Reichman University graduates who serve in senior positions in Israel and around the world.

Despite its young age, Reichman University is a fertile startup incubator. Recently, it was officially recognized as a world leader in the number of ventures founded by its graduates when it was ranked by the prestigious Pitchbook ranking in seventh place in the world among universities comparable to it in size, and in 38th place among all universities.

Founding President and Chairman of the Board of Reichman University, Prof. Uriel Reichman: “Thanks to the interdisciplinary, international and innovative approach we have been implementing since 1994, our graduates are a prominent force in the Israeli high-tech industry and bolster Israel’s status as a global innovation powerhouse. RUNI Ventures is a unique fund that will provide students and graduates who are developing groundbreaking technological ventures the best tools to succeed, bring about change, and impact the future.”

Managing Partner of RUNI Ventures, Adv. Hila Rom: “We are happy to be joined by top-tier investors, who have expressed confidence in the leading team, the unique model we have built and in the great value and business potential that lies in investing in the next generation of Israeli entrepreneurs. Other accomplished investors from Israel and abroad will soon join us, and as the deal flow looks excellent, we will start making first investments soon.”
