"A Closer Look at
STARUP NATION IN ISRAEL"
The Arison School of Business once again offered the course "A Closer Look at the Startup Nation in Israel," giving students a chance to learn about the Israel's hot high-tech economy.
This course is a collaboration of Columbia's MBA programs and Arison School of Business MBA programs.
From a large number of enrolled students, 30 carefully selected students traveled to Israel for an intensive and stimulating program.
This full week of study takes place at Reichman University, giving students a fascinating and unique experience.
During their studies, the students visited a variety of leading Israeli companies, including Ukko, Hargol, Earnix, Startup Nation Central, as well as met with entrepreneur, investor and executive leaders, such as Liron Azrialant - CEO of the Meron Capital Venture Fund, Guy Gamzo - investor Danny Cohen - partner in Viola Ventures, and others. This course addresses various aspects of entrepreneurship and innovation management in Israel, emphasizing the characteristics of the "start-up nation." The course is taught using "learning in the making" and in small groups.
As part of the course, the students met with Prof. Niron Hashai, Dean of the School, Prof. Yaakov Goldenberg, and Prof. Oren Zuckerman, Head of the HCI Master's Program.
In addition to practical activities and experiential learning, this course offers networking opportunities with international MBA students and leaders in corporate innovation, top investors, and representatives of government entrepreneurship agencies.
The students also had the opportunity to attend a Mental Israeli Toughness workshop conducted by Doron Maman. The students were accompanied by Professor Oded Netzer of Columbia University, while under the guidance of the program directors, Michal Olmert Naishtein and Sharon Klajman
