After a year of hiatus due to the security situation, we're back in the field! On a sunny and pleasant Tuesday morning, a group of students from the MBA programs (Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Strategy, and Real Estate tracks), led by our Dean, Professor Niron Hashai, set out on an educational-experiential tour of northern Israel to get acquainted with companies outside the Tel Aviv bubble and draw inspiration.
What did we experience?
Apollo Power – We met with the company's CEO, Oded Rosenberg, an Reichman MBA program graduate (class 10), who shared with us his path to success: how a simple change in the structure of rigid solar panels turned into a huge factory with a competitive market. Apollo Power specializes in the development and production of flexible solar panels, which install solar panels practically anywhere.
Lumenis – We enjoyed an impressive and professional hosting – with our thanks to Tal Sadan for organizing it - which included an overview and presentation of three case studies from the fields of vision, aesthetics, and data. Particularly noteworthy was a fascinating study case related to hair growth, in which the company turned a serendipitous effect of an existing treatment into an opportunity and created an innovative and sought-after product in the hair growth field.
Maytronics – At Kibbutz Yizrael we encountered a veteran company in the pool cleaning industry. We were exposed to the transition from traditional manufacturing to advanced automation and the ways the company deals with increasing competition, especially from the Chinese market. Rather than relying on past success, the company is renewing its product line and reevaluating its marketing strategy (thanks to Modi Fluman, Director of Strategy and Business Development ,for a perfect hosting).
Tulip Winery – We ended the day with an inspiring conversation with Elram Goren, entrepreneur and founder of the unicorn Fabric, followed by original stories and wine tastings with Roy Itzchaki, founder of the winery. The winery is located next to Kfar Tikva, a pastoral community for people with special needs, and the combination of quality winemaking and social action has become Tulip's hallmark.
An unexpected business value stood out from all our hosts - a genuine sense of Zionism, not just as a slogan but as a way of life. In each of the companies, the commitment to white-and-blue production, investment in the periphery, and continued development of the north was evident, even in the face of competitive and economic challenges.
💡 It was fascinating, enriching, and inspiring! Thanks to all the speakers, hosts, and everyone who contributed to the success of the tour.
See you on the next tour! 🚀
