Year of establishment: 2019

The new entrance gate to the campus was generously donated by the Arabov family from Herzliya and named in honor of the late businessman David Arabov, z”l, who passed away the previous year.

During the inauguration ceremony, Founding President and Chairperson of the Board of Directors Prof. Uriel Reichman expressed his gratitude to the Arabov family for their contribution. He stated: “We are inaugurating this gate in the year in which we successfully concluded a long struggle to obtain permission to grant doctorate degrees, on our way to becoming the first private university in Israel.

“We established the university when this place was still a run-down army base, and for years, even as we invested tremendous resources in the buildings and teaching facilities, the entrance gate remained that of a military camp, opening and closing with a rope. Now, we have a gate befitting a university, and the fact that it was made possible thanks to one of our alumni brings us double the joy.”

Zahi Arabov, Chairman of Acro Real Estate, is a graduate of one of the university’s first cohorts, and the first alumnus to make a significant contribution back to the institution.
