The Radzyner Administration Building was also part of the army base and was used by the army as classrooms. During the first years of Reichman University the Radzyner Administration Building was the only building on campus and was named the Radzyner Law School.
During Reichman University’s very first semester, studies were accompanied by the roars of tractors and constant hammering, as well as by the commotion of the construction of the Radzyner Square. The sound of the rain on the tin roofs posed a problem, as it made it almost impossible to hear anything else, and so special insulation was laid on the roof to ensure that the lecturers could teach and the students could study. The students were immersed in the sense of mission and the spirit of establishing something new and were very understanding and cooperative, in spite of the disruptions.
The original donation made by Dr. Harry Radzyner, whom the building is named after, was Reichman University’s lifeline, as it is otherwise unclear if and how it would have survived. Dr. Radzyner continues to contribute to Reichman University and remains a great, loyal and trusted friend.
"The main training facility of the former antiaircraft military base provided a natural fit for its new role as a classroom and teaching complex for the new college. In the extensive refurbishment of the structure we made use of the building's existing morphology, added an elevator and restrooms, re-divided the space and added a new palette of colors to the stories in order to enhance the architectural legibility and to strengthen the aesthetic qualities of the old structure."
