Message to students and faculty

regarding B.A and M.A exams in the Israeli and International track

that were scheduled to be given on campus or online

Due to the vast increase in corona cases and in the interest of keeping the students, faculty and staff involved in operating and supervising exams, healthy and safe, the following decisions were made in cooperation with the student union:

  • All Moed Aleph (first exam date) exams that were planned to be held on campus will be converted into online exams* according to the existing regulations (information was distributed this week)
  • Moed Gimmel (when relevant) and Moed Bet (second exam date) exams will be held on campus- depending on the health status.

  • All online Moed Aleph exams will have a numeric grade, unless the school's dean has decided, in an exceptional manner and for special circumstances, that a specific course should have a binary pass/fail grade- for this test round only (only for Moed Aleph). In this exceptional case, students will be eligible to take 2 additional exam dates on campus (depending on the health situation), in which the grade would be numeric and not binary.

In the School of Computer Science, the dean will determine up to 3 courses for each year of studies, to be given a binary grade. For the purpose of continuing a merit scholarship and being considered for outstanding students/graduates lists, only numeric grades will be taken into account, and one cannot be eligible for those without achieving numeric grades.

  • For the purposes of eligibility for merit scholarship only (and not for outstanding student lists) each BA student (in all of the schools) will be able to request that one course or a total of 4 credits (the higher of the two) from the 2021/2 fall semester, will not be taken into consideration while checking their eligibility to continue the scholarship. This is not to say that a numeric grade can be converted into pass/fail in the student's transcript.

*MBA, MFE and MA in Behavioral Economics – Program heads will send out instructions separately.

Following up on the message about transition to online exams from January 14th, Reichman University has decided to re-implement last year's decision on merit scholarship holders. According to this decision, designed to alleviate some of the stress during corona time, the same percentage of students who received the scholarship this year, will be approved to continue the scholarship next year.
