A little over 20 years ago -- before Wikipedia, ynet, or Facebook -- the Hebrew Internet was enriched with a new and innovative online platform: Project Ben-Yehuda – a volunteer-based project creating and maintaining a digital library of Hebrew literature, accessible to the public free of charge and without advertising. The talk will discuss the cultural implications of the project, the unexpected impacts it has made, and the technological aspects of its operation.
