MCI is located in the center of Innsbruck offering 5 different campuses; Being part of the Open University Innsbruck concept, MCI and the Innsbruck University share infrastructure like lecture rooms, laboratories, sports facilities and cafeterias.

 

The MCI collaborates with about 200 partner universities.

 

All students in Austria are automatically members of the Austrian Student Union (ÖH) and have to pay a mandatory membership fee per semester. Membership in the student union includes an accident and liability insurance on campus. This insurance is different from a regular health, accident and liability insurance, of course, that you should bring yourself. In addition, MCI also charges a small administrative fee, covering some course materials and administrative support.

 

Both the Austrian Student Union (ÖH) and the administrative fees together make up EUR 50.


  • A note on language requirements:

MCI requires students to provide English proficiency test results. TOEFL iBT 75-85; TOEFL pBT 540; IELTS or IELTS Online 5.5-6.0 in academic module.

 

Alternatively, MCI also offer an online English test free of charge. Details on the online test and the required scores are provided during the application period.

 

*Students whose native language is English (including French-Canadians) or who are enrolled in a program fully taught in English at their home university are not required to take the online English test.

 

Accommodation


  • As an old university town, Innsbruck offers a wide choice of accommodation in halls of residence, bedsits, flat shares, etc.
  • Innsbruck is a very popular city for students. This means that finding accommodation in Innsbruck can be very time consuming and is not always easy. Especially at the beginning of the fall semester. Students usually have to contact multiple housing providers before finding an accommodation.
  • Most exchange students book a room in a student dorm via the OeAD. Finding private housing in Innsbruck may be challenging and requires considerable time and effort
    to find a flat share or a studio.
