Workshops


The center for statistical consulting invites you to register to our statistical workshops on data management and both basic and advanced statistical models in social sciences.

The Reichman University has hosted annual statistical workshops since 2011.  These workshops are specifically designed for researchers and research students in fields such as social science, management, and healthcare who wish to learn advanced methods of data analysis.

Complex statistical procedures have become the standard in quantitative research. Yet, such complicated procedures are often under-studied in formal education. Our statistical workshops aim at filling this gap. We aim to provide a practical “hands on” workshop on tools, programs and models for statistical analysis.

Participants will learn, step by step, how to run the statistical models using appropriate statistical software and how to interpret their outcomes and to report them with the accepted rules.

Our guidelines


  • Practical – Our workshops are of a practical nature. We teach the theory, how the statistical analysis “thinks”, but the emphasis is not on the formulas but on their implementation in research. The main emphasis is to understand when and how to correctly use different statistical methodologies and what are the advantages and disadvantages of each methodology.
  • Hands-on – Our workshops are structured to enable each participant vital direct practice with the material in question. Each participant works on an individual work station complete with a computer and individually performs each and every stage of the work so as to maximize skill acquisition.
  • Modular – Our workshops are comprised of multiple short-term workshops (usually one day). Participants may choose to create their own blend of workshops based on what’s relevant for their personal needs.
  • Beyond the data – the work of a researcher does not end when the analysis is done. In each workshop we also teach how to write and report the results in a manner compatible with accepted guidelines in research journals

Details and Registration


  • Workshops Instructors: Dr. Kanat-Maymon Yaniv from Baruch Ivcher school of Psychology, Dr. Cavari Amnon from Lauder school of Government. Mr. Mor Yaron from the center for statistical consultation in the Reichman University.
  • All workshops are held on campus in the Reichman University.
  • Workshops are held in small groups. Each workshop is limited to 30 participants. Participants will receive all the needed material and documentation for the workshop.
  • Workshop registration is made only via the registration website (registration will not be permitted at the actual workshop) and paid for by credit card. At the bottom of the page is a link to a secured registration website. Those who register to more than one workshop will be given a discount.
