A Journey of Advocacy, Inspiration, and Connection at Princeton’s Global Student Conference – Business Today

Above all else, the most important takeaway from this incredible experience was the opportunity to advocate for Israel. Throughout the conference, I engaged in meaningful conversations, emphasizing one critical message: the world must unite to bring home the hostages held in Gaza. This is not just Israel’s mission—it’s a humanitarian cause of the utmost urgency.

One key lesson I learned during these discussions is the transformative power of direct and honest communication. When we look people in the eye, share factual information, and present the human side of our story, the veil of misinformation begins to lift. By demonstrating that we are humans just like them, the barriers of bias and distortion start to fade. Dialogue, active listening, and the ability to explain our perspective can lead to new opportunities and even change minds.

It also became clear that we must approach such conversations with humility and integrity. We need to ask tough questions, provide nuanced answers, and acknowledge that we are not infallible. Everyone makes mistakes, including us, and being honest about them fosters trust and understanding.

This year, I was privileged to attend the global student conference organized by Princeton University. The conference brought together 150 exceptional students from around the world, selected from over 10,000 applicants. Representing Reichman University, I was surrounded by inspiring individuals—students who have launched groundbreaking startups, conducted innovative research and pursued ambitious goals, all with a shared commitment to leadership and excellence.

Last year, I was also chosen to attend this prestigious conference. However, I had no hesitation in deciding to forgo the opportunity due to the outbreak of war. Since October 7, I have served as a company commander in the reserve forces of the IDF’s Combat Intelligence Corps, completing over 200 days of reserve duty in the past year. This time, I was fortunate enough to attend, and the experience was nothing short of transformative.

The conference featured lectures from global leaders, including the CEOs of S&P Global, PwC Senior U.S., as well as startup founders and leadership coaches. Their insights into resilience, leadership, and innovation left a lasting impression on me and provided invaluable lessons that I hope to carry forward in my journey.

Equally impactful were the connections I made with students from diverse countries, including India, Austria, Sweden, and the U.S., many of whom study at Ivy League institutions such as Stanford, MIT, and Columbia. These conversations highlighted the power of collaboration and the importance of global perspectives in tackling complex challenges. 

Representing Israel at this international stage carried deep personal meaning. I shared Israel’s unique and often misunderstood realities, fostering open and respectful discussions with peers from around the world. To my surprise and gratitude, many were eager to listen, ask questions, and reflect on the challenges and misinformation surrounding our region.
This experience was more than just an opportunity to represent Reichman University and Israel; it was a reminder of the power of dialogue, advocacy, and connection. I return with a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude, inspired by the people I met and the lessons I learned.
