Company Visit Reflection – Adelson School of Entrepreneurship

As part of a unique opportunity at The Adelson School of Entrepreneurship at Reichman University over this semester, I had the chance to visit three inspiring companies: Buff, Pumba, and HSC. Each represented different aspects and areas of the entrepreneurship spectrum, illuminating the true meaning of how to become and succeed in the entrepreneurship world. 

Buff, a gaming company, was a new world for me in particular. Before this visit, I was vaguely familiar with the gaming world. After this visit, I gained a new appreciation for the gaming field and its market potential. It was interesting to see how Buff is utilizing AI to improve their games, as well as creative and innovative solutions to attract and retain employees. Their ability to attract engagement and scale within a highly competitive industry was impressive.

Pumba, an AI-based smart parking solution, stood out for its practical use of the "Wizard of Oz" MVP approach. It was exciting to learn how the company has now formed partnerships with major players like Moovit and Waze and is expanding into European markets. Their use of real-time data and AI to solve the very tangible problem of urban parking showed me how entrepreneurship can take a problem and find an innovative and practical solution for it.

The highlight for me was the visit to HSC, a venture capital firm. It was incredibly inspiring to hear directly from the team about what drives their investment decisions, how they evaluate startups, and the trends they are watching in the market. It gave me valuable insight into the investor perspective and what makes a startup attractive to VCs.

What stood out across all visits was the eagerness of the founders and company representatives to connect with Reichman students. Their openness to share, network, and even mentor was truly inspiring.

I’m looking forward to the upcoming visits to Wix and Team8 and greatly appreciate these opportunities to learn from some of the most innovative players in the Israeli entrepreneurship ecosystem.
