1. Free Application for Federal Student Loans (FAFSA) and Sallie Mae
Reichman University students who are US citizens may apply for FAFSA and/or Sallie Mae loans.
FAFSA grants or Pell may not be used, as students are studying in an international university (located outside of the US).
Loans and applications are not automated; students interested in borrowing loans must contact our financial aid manager, Rina Haller, Rina@aforu.org 212-213-5961 (located in the New York office).
The university's deadline for US loans for the 2026-2027 academic year is April 1st, 2027.
Students interested in borrowing FAFSA and/or Sallie Mae loans for the 2026-2027 academic year must contact Rina starting July 2026.
For applicants and incoming students, loan applications for the 27-28 academic year will be processed starting July 2027 and the deadline to apply is April 1st, 2028
2. The American Jewish League (AJLI)
The American Jewish League (AJLI) for Israel has a unique University Scholarship program that awards qualified American students with partial scholarship grants toward a year of study at one of Israel's prestigious Universities.
The application must be submitted in its entirely by May 15, 2026 to be considered.

3. GI BILL Benefits, U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs
The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) offers a number of educational assistance programs for veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their dependents.

5. Hebrew Free Loan of San Francisco
Provides interest-free, cost-free loans to Jewish permanent residents of Northern California. Loans are available to help participants pay for tuition, program costs, travel expenses, and more.
Northern California residents, as well as students from Northern California who are attending universities outside of the region, are eligible to apply.

6. Boren Scholarships (Undergrad)
Boren Scholarships promote long term linguistic and cultural immersion, and therefore study abroad proposals for two or more semesters are strongly encouraged.
Preference will be given to undergraduate applicants proposing a at least 6 months overseas.
Boren-funded programs can begin no earlier than June 1. Summer-only programs must be eight (8) weeks or more and are limited to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) students.
Boren Scholarships are awarded with preference for countries, languages, and fields of study critical to U.S. national security. Preference is also given to students who will study abroad for longer periods of time, and who are highly motivated by the opportunity to work in the federal government.
As we cannot list all countries, languages, and fields that are critical to U.S. national security, we are interested in applications that fall outside the preferences, if the candidate can make a compelling case that such study can contribute significantly to U.S. national security and the goals of the program.
Deadline: January 31 , 2024 . Amounts: $8,000 for a summer program (special initiative for STEM students only; 8 weeks minimum), $10,000 for a semester, $20,000 for a 6 - 12 months

The Ambassadorial Scholarships look to further international understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries and geographical areas.

8. The Hilda Specter Morgenstern Merit Scholarship
Awarded once a year to a Jewish American woman pursuing an undergraduate education in Israel, has a GPA of 3.5 or higher and an interest in public advocacy, public policy or government affairs.
