Renewal of Student Visa
Students may apply for renewal of their student visa either at the Ministry of Interior in Herzliya, or at the Israeli consulate abroad if they are abroad.
If in Israel, application for renewal of student visa should be done in person at:
Population & Immigration Authority (Ministry of interior) Herzliya: 11 Bareket st., 8th floor, Visa (Ashrot) Department
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:00-12:00 (recommended to arrive 06:00-07:30 and wait in line in order to get a number as soon as they open – first come first serve)

Appointments in advance are not available for student visas
1. A few weeks before your visa expires, email the ministry with your full name and passport number, request a police clearance in order to renew your student visa, ask them to please notify you as soon as it's approved, in order to renew your visa.
2. Upon confirmation from the ministry, go there (instructions above) with all required documents
Required documents:
1. Application form filled out
2. Passport + photocopy of the passport (Passport should be valid for at least 6 months after period of requested visa)
3. Two passport pictures
4. A short letter explaining how you fund yourself + proof (tuition receipts, scholarships, bank statements from past 3 months, letter from parents that they support you financially + their bank statements etc.)
5. Updated Certificate of Enrollment for next year, with date of start & end of the school year, and date of expected end of studies (available by request from your academic coordinator)
6. Updated Grades Transcript + program of studies (available from your student info station)
7. Proof of residency in Israel (rent contract / confirmation letter from RU dorms office)
8. Original Birth certificate, apostilled (unless you provided it previously to the ministry)
9. Fee of 410 ILS (includes multiple entry visa) (exemption with proof of Judaism) - payment with Israeli credit card or pre-paid card (from Israel post) only, no cash!
10. Proof of valid health insurance in Israel, valid for next school year
Things to remember:
* Make sure to ask for both stay visa + multiple entry visa
* The ministry may request any additional document
* Documents not in Hebrew/English must be translated and notarized
* For an additional work permit - proof of Judaism (from last 6 months) + birth certificate + police clearance from home country + a letter from a potential employer indicating that it is a part time job.
* For students staying here already 6 months or more, the ministry checks with the Israeli police about any criminal records.
