On April 23rd, the annual conference of the Israeli Society for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics took place at the Daniel Hossidman Conference Center on the Reichman University campus. The conference brought together a diverse and vibrant community of researchers, students, and professionals working at the intersection of biology, computer science, and data-driven biomedical research.
The event was jointly organized by Prof. Ilan Gronau, from the Efi Arazi School of Computer Science, and Dr. Milana Frenkel-Morgenstern, from the Scojen Institute for Synthetic Biology at the Dina Recanati School of Medicine. Their collaboration exemplifies the interdisciplinary nature of modern scientific research and underscores Reichman University’s commitment to promoting cross-disciplinary innovation.
More than 350 participants from academic institutions, hospitals, and industry across Israel attended the conference, highlighting the strength and rapid growth of the computational biology community in the country. The program featured keynote lectures, oral presentations, and a poster session showcasing cutting-edge research in genomics, systems biology, AI in healthcare, molecular modeling, and beyond.
The conference also served as a platform for fostering new collaborations, sharing computational tools and datasets, and discussing current challenges and emerging trends in the field.
