The Tiomkin School of Economics at Reichman University congratulates Professor Joel Mokyr on being awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences.
Professor Mokyr, an Israeli economist who taught for several years in the School’s Honors Program, is one of the foremost economic historians of our time.
Professor Mokyr’s groundbreaking research explores the origins of modern economic growth and the vital roles of knowledge, innovation, and technological change in shaping the Industrial Revolution. His work has shown how a culture of scientific curiosity, the dissemination of knowledge, and collaboration among scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs created the conditions for technological breakthroughs and long-term economic growth, insights that remain deeply relevant to the modern world.
