Ohad Maimon

Ohad Maimon is a research assistant at the Aaron Institute for Economic Policy, Reichman University, where he contributes to the work of the Center for Economic Policy of the Arab Society.

In his role, Ohad engages in empirical data collection, economic modeling, and policy analysis in fields related to education, labor markets, and social mobility in Israel. His work integrates advanced quantitative research skills with a broad understanding of social and economic processes, aiming to produce applied knowledge that can inform evidence-based policymaking.

Ohad holds an M.A. in Economics from Bar-Ilan University and a B.A. with honors in Economics, Sociology, and Anthropology, also from Bar-Ilan. During his studies, he developed a strong interest in the intersection of economics and the social sciences, particularly the ways in which social inequality shapes educational opportunities. His master’s thesis examined socioeconomic disparities in higher education in Israel, analyzing how family background and economic resources affect access to academic institutions, choice of study fields, and prospects of success. This research provided important insights into how structural and economic variables influence life trajectories of students from diverse social groups.

In addition to his research background, Ohad brings extensive technical expertise in statistical and computational tools, including Excel, Python, and Stata. His proficiency in these tools allows him to manage large datasets, perform complex statistical analyses, and design models that generate valuable input for public policy decisions.

Ohad views research as a key instrument for driving social and economic change. He is committed to contributing to long-term strategies that reduce educational and employment disparities and foster greater inclusion of the Arab society and economically disadvantaged populations in Israel. Combining theoretical knowledge, analytical skills, and a strong commitment to equality, he represents a new generation of researchers determined to influence public discourse and promote fairer, data-driven policies.
