Counsellor Coordinator: Bar Ben Kohal

Bar is 25, originally from Meitar in the south of Israel and now living in Tel Aviv. She is a second year Law and Government student at Reichman University, enrolled in the direct track to a master’s degree. Bar served as both a commander and an officer in the IDF and now serves in reserves as the human resources officer. She brings extensive leadership experience, having worked with youth over the past year as a Jewish Agency emissary  in South Africa. Bar is deeply involved in community initiatives and currently works as a youth program coordinator at StandWithUs. Passionate about law, public policy, and social impact, she strives to integrate her academic pursuits with meaningful military, social, and community engagement.

Counsellor Coordinator: Ariel Goldman

Ariel Goldman, 24, was born and raised in California. At 15, she made Aliyah through the Naale Elite Academy program and finished high school in Israel. After graduating, she served as a lone soldier in the IDF Search and Rescue Unit, completing her service in 2023 and has continued serving in the reserves since. Ariel is currently a third-year Communications student at Reichman University, specializing in Content for Impact and HCI. During her time at Reichman, she has completed two seasons of her podcast and found a real passion for storytelling, film, and community building. After spending last year as a peer counselor, Ariel is now the coordinator of the peer counselors team for Psychology and Communications. Having gone through the experience of moving to Israel and building a life here herself, being part of RRIS and helping international students find their place at Reichman is something that means a lot to her. Outside of university, you’ll probably find Ariel running, practicing yoga, baking, spending time with friends, or planning her next travel adventure.

Counselors Coordinator: Joey Silbershatz

Joey Silbershatz, 27 years old from Israel, is a third year student at Reichman University studying Business Administration and Economics with a specialization in Accounting. Before university, Joey completed five years of service in the IDF Navy, serving aboard a naval ship before becoming a Communications Operations Officer (Captain, Res.). On campus, he has been involved in student life as a class representative for two years, manager of the SIE ENG language exchange club, and CFO of the Student Union prior to becoming its Vice Chairperson. He also participated in the 15th and the 16th Student Union Poland Delegations, an amazing and unique experience that impacted him deeply. Outside of his studies, Joey enjoys running, snowboarding, traveling and mountain hiking, having summitted Mount Kilimanjaro. Joey is genuinely enthusiastic about meeting new people from all around the world and looks forward to accompanying incoming students as they take their very first steps at RUNI.
