On Thursday November 27, 2025, Reichman University hosted the

Round-Table and visit of Prof. Colin Mayer

Last week, we had the privilege of hosting Prof. Colin Mayer from the University of Oxford – one of the world’s most influential scholars in corporate governance, sustainability, and the role of the business sector.

Prof. Mayer, former Dean of the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford at the University of Oxford and currently a Special Academic Advisor to the Arison ESG Center at Reichman University, visited Israel for a series of engagements that offered a valuable opportunity for learning and deep discussion about the evolving role of business in today’s world.

During his visit, Prof. Mayer held a series of meetings:

·         He participated in a seminar with law students and spoke with them about the intersection of corporate responsibility and governance in the 21st century.

·         He met with university researchers and discussed his ongoing work with them.

·         He held an in-depth conversation with leading business figures from various sectors in Israel, focusing on local ESG trends, perceptions of the Israeli market, and the challenges facing the local industry.

The highlight of the visit took place on Thursday, in a CEO roundtable with senior leaders from the Israeli business sector. In an open conversation, Prof. Mayer presented his well-known perspective: successful companies are those that define a genuine purpose, create value for all stakeholders, and integrate sustainability not as an add-on, but as a strategic principle.

Participants reflected together on Israel’s position in the ESG discourse, on the challenges it faces, and on the significant potential that lies ahead.

We at the Arison ESG Center are proud of our collaboration with Prof. Mayer and grateful for an inspiring, thought-provoking, and horizon-expanding visit.
