The Research at the Baruch Ivcher School of Psychology Clinic

The Baruch Ivcher School clinic was founded in 2014 with the opening of the Master's program in Clinical Psychology at Reichman University. The clinic is one of the largest non-profit community clinics in the country. It is a research clinic that seeks to combine professional psychotherapy with innovative research, understanding that research and treatment are interconnected and promote each other.

Alongside the treatments that are at the core of the clinic, the Reichman University clinic aims to advance research in the clinical field, out of a belief in the great importance of the link between practice and research.

The research at the clinic is primarily conducted in order to assist therapists with additional ways, alongside the content that arises in the sessions, to identify and evaluate additional patterns or processes in the treatment. Additionally, the research helps in the training process of the next generation of therapist-researchers, who use the most advanced tools to evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and other important aspects of it.

Another goal is to continue to expand the growing knowledge about various aspects of treatment, derived from the background of the therapist, the therapist-client relationship, the therapist-supervisor relationship, and various aspects that contribute to the effectiveness of the treatment. This is an attempt to best identify the various processes occurring within and around the treatment and their relationship to its effectiveness.

The research at the clinic is based on questionnaires filled out by the therapist and client at set time points during the treatment. It is important to note that participation in the research is contingent on the clients' consent, and with the strictest adherence to confidentiality and anonymity.
